The 43 km long Seiffen route is less challenging with 870 m of elevation, rather willing, technically easy to ride, and is especially suitable for a family outing with children.
The Gravel Cracker is not a competition; currently, 3 beautiful routes are offered that can be comfortably completed in 2 or 3 days. Those who prefer a sporty challenge can also ride the total 137 kilometers in one go. Whether on a short route or a full-day route, there is pure gravel enjoyment following the footsteps of the nutcracker, which is given as a cool pendant souvenir to every participant. The specified routes, which adventure-hungry and adventurous gravel bikers can explore independently, each have their own character, are partly signposted, but in any case navigable by GPS. The rather short 23-kilometer but with 680 m elevation also technically demanding “Panorama Loop” crosses 6 mountains around Seiffen, offers exquisite views, and is suitable as an introduction to a fine gravel weekend. Next is the 43 km long Seiffen route, with 870 m less “crunchy” and also technically easy to ride. The “Trainline” leads as an out-and-back route from Seiffen partially over an old railway line to the Kahleberg near Altenberg and back. Here you have almost entirely finest gravel on 71 km with 1220 m elevation. So the Gravel Cracker is definitely worth considering for everyone who wants to actively experience Seiffen and the surroundings, being sporty and versatile on the bike – whether on asphalt, gravel, or forest and meadow paths.
