"Hiking stories of salt and water" is what this moderate hike is also called and it is recommended as a day route due to its variety. It offers scenic sections, historical information, sights, playgrounds, and repeated opportunities for rest and refreshment. It leads past the Schwemmteich on the long-distance trade route "Old Salt Road", where the sheep of the "Großes Vorwerk" were previously driven to wash, to "scour". Over the Kreuztanne to the Rauschenbach reservoir, which will tell younger "water stories".

Directions
- The path leads left from the Neuhausen tourist information past the Purschenstein wedding procession and then right through the Purschenstein castle park, past the glassworks museum, along the "Old Salt Road" towards Sayda. Discover the natural monument "Schwemmteiche" and continue following the "Painter's Path". At the country inn "Kleines Vorwerk" you can admire, among other things, old domestic animal breeds. In Sayda at the post office keep right and walk past the Kia car dealership towards the hotel "Kreuztanne". Enjoy the view of Cämmerswalde and continue on the right hiking trail. After about 500 m a field path turns right. You cross the main road Cämmerswalde and continue straight. Soon you can already see the aviation museum and admire the old aviation technology. Now it is not far to the Rauschenbach reservoir. The view offered to you when crossing the dam is fantastic. Then along the inner right side of the guardrail and again right, follow the path downwards along the fence into the valley and the red marking. In Rauschenbach in front of the former Jägerklause hotel turn left to the Münch Foundation nursing home. You leave the building on the right and follow the path into the forest. At the first intersection choose the left path and hike to the Kneipp pool. After the Kneipp pool turn right and then left to the Goldhübel holiday hotel with its worth seeing wildlife enclosure. Above the wildlife enclosure keep right 2 times and then immediately left, through the Häneldelle towards the Neuhausen town center.
