From the station forecourt, you first walk along Kohlenstraße parallel to the railroad line (towards Dresden). After crossing an allotment site, we reach a pedestrian and cycle path that leads us to the district of Falkenau. We have to cross the railroad tracks of the Chemnitz-Olbernhau line of the Erzgebirgsbahn railroad twice and then cross the Flöha floodplain, which is still relatively wide here. Passing another allotment garden site, we reach the bridge of the Straße der Einheit over the railroad line. After crossing it, we turn left before the church and reach Ernst-Thälmann-Straße, passing the "Edmund Lehmann" sports complex and the Falkenau stop on the Erzgebirgsbahn. We follow the road in the Flöha valley to the new road bridge with a wonderful view of the viaduct. The ascent is possible either to the left (past the entrance to the allotment site) or to the right (under the viaduct over the railroad line and then keep right).
The way back leads along the former railroad line into the district of Falkenau. Here you stay to the left of the railroad line to Dresden. After a few meters you reach the Falkenau (Sachs) Süd stop. We walk past it and the Falkenau ski club on the mountainside. After crossing the forest area at Kuhstein (a short detour to the so-called "wandering mountain" with an information board is recommended here), you come directly to the Flöha-Plaue stop on the Erzgebirgsbahn to Annaberg-Buchholz at the end of the Schweddey valley. From here, you can't miss Flöha station and thus the end point of our hike.
