On the trail of the Schildbürger.
The Dahlener-Heide cycling route runs over 39 kilometers from Wurzen to Torgau. The route passes through lightly trafficked country roads and the forests of the Dahlener Heide, passing many interesting places such as Hohburg, Taura, and Schildau.

Wurzen (Mulde)

We start our bike route in Wurzen at junction 24 and follow the signs northeast over the Hohburg Hill towards Hohburg. Passing Thammenhain Castle and the Schildau Hill, we reach Schildau. The route then leads us over Taura to the Elbe river at Torgau.
Those arriving at the train station simply follow the marked junctions 95 (directly in front of the station), 13, and 14. From there you can follow the signs for the Dahlener-Heide cycling route.
In Wurzen, there is a connection to the Leipzig-Elbe cycling route and Sachsen M. In Schildau, you can also continue on the Sachsen M. In Torgau and Bennewitz near Torgau, there is a connection to the Elbe Cycle Route. In Torgau, there is also the possibility to switch to the Torgau Cycling Route or Sachsen M.

For fans of the "Schildbürger," Schildau is the highlight of the route.
