The cycle tour takes you past the famous luge and bobsleigh track up to the Kahleberg.
The route runs for around 23 kilometers from Altenberg via Oberbärenburg, Waldidylle, Bärenfels and Schellerhau up to the Kahleberg (905 m), one of the highest peaks in the Ore Mountains. Along the way, you will pass the traditional Altenberg luge and bobsleigh track, cross extensive forests and enjoy panoramic views of the Ore Mountains.

You start at the Altenberg tourist information office and cycle along the cycle path on Dresdner Straße to the junction to the youth hostel. Turn right here and then immediately take the first left again. At the end of the path, continue left until you come straight onto Bornweg. Keep left along this road in the direction of Oberbärenburg. You will then reach the Bauweg. Follow it to the so-called "Spinne" (crossroads Oberbärenburg - Waldidylle - Bobbahn). Cross this to reach the Marienweg. Now continue until you turn left onto Waldidyller Weg. This takes you a little way through Oberbärenburg. Now take the Heuweg to Waldbärenburg. In the village, head downhill towards Kipsdorf, before turning left towards Bärenfels and continuing straight on towards the forest. Follow the path through Bärenfels in the direction of Schellerhau via Böhmische Straße. Turn right onto Putzmühlenweg and continue straight ahead. After just under a kilometer, turn right towards "Neu-Schellerhau". After a short time, you will reach the Julius-Schmidt-Steig, which you follow onto the Landweg. Then continue onto the Gabelweg and turn left to then immediately turn right again onto Schneise 28. Turn left onto the I-wing to Kahleberg. Return via the I-wing and Alter Zaunhäuser Weg to the Altenberg adventure mountain. Now return to the starting point.

It is possible to stop off at the various restaurants in Schellerhau and Oberbärenburg.
There is an e-bike charging station at the Altenberg adventure mountain.
