Circular route from Hainsberg via the Somsdorfer gorge to Tharandt

The path begins at the leisure center "Hains" and leads over the Rote Weißeritz into the Rabenauer Grund (marking Yellow Bar). After about 500 meters, it goes right into a steep gorge that leads upward via stone steps and iron stairs. Somsdorf is reached at the Waldfrieden settlement. In the town center, the Erblehngericht restaurant awaits us. Schnitzel dishes are among the specialties of the establishment. Those who prefer to eat from their backpack follow the Yellow Bar trail for another approx. 2 kilometers to the Sonnentempel on the forest edge. The shelter, built in 1797, was extensively repaired by the city of Freital in 2019. To Tharandt, it is only a short descent. When you are almost at the bottom, there is a hiking crossing. Those who want to use the S-Bahn or make a detour to Tharandt continue along the Yellow Bar. Our circular hiking route, however, leads to the right via the Leitenweg, which now runs along the marking Green Dot towards Freital. After almost 3 kilometers, we reach the Hainsberger/Heilsberger Park. Some of the shrubs date back to around 1760. Here, there is the opportunity to take the S-Bahn in Freital-Hainsberg West. We, however, continue to walk the street to the right, initially following the Green Dot and Bar, but mainly the hiking sign 2, and arrive at the Freital-Coßmannsdorf stop of the Weißeritztalbahn. After a few meters, we are back at the starting point of our route.
