The barrier-free circular route around Augustusburg Castle connects the castle, Kurfürstin-Anna-Garten, the historic old town, and the Zschopautal hiking trail, offering great views all around. Explore Augustusburg Castle, relax in Kurfürstin-Anna-Garten, stroll through the historic old town, and enjoy the wonderful panoramic views. Attention! Due to construction work, a complete outer loop around Augustusburg Castle is not possible until autumn 2022. However, a loop can still be walked by going through the castle courtyards. Just follow the directions.

The walk around Augustusburg Castle can be started from the historic old town as well as from Bärengartenweg/Zschopautal hiking trail, from the Schlossauffahrt, or from the castle parking lot.
It leads once completely around the castle. You pass through the Kurfürstin-Anna-Garten, come through the historic old town, and walk parallel to the Bärengartenweg/Zschopautal hiking trail.
From the old town, you enter the front castle courtyard; from the castle parking lot, you reach the rear castle courtyard. Here you find, among other things, the Fountain House, which has been an associated UNESCO World Heritage site of the Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří mining region since 2019.

Along the circular route, you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views in almost all directions.
