Start of the hike at the bus stop Coßmannsdorf, Gasthaus zum Rabenauer Grund.
(If you walk from Coßmannsdorf station to Somsdorf for about 500m, first on the footpath of Hainsberger Straße and then 200m on Somsdorfer Straße, you will reach the Gasthaus zum Rabenauer Grund at the foot of the hill up to Somsdorf).
This is also the start of the hiking trail that leads into the Rabenauer Grund directly along the Rote Weißeritz.
First follow the green line along the Rote Weißeritz for 500 m against the current until you reach the hiking trail up to Somsdorf. You can follow this or walk 800 m further to the entrance to the romantic Somsdorf gorge, marked with a yellow line, to the steep ascent to the Teufelskanzel and reach the village on the Somsdorfer Höhe at the end of the ascent on both paths.
The yellow line hiking trail continues through the village to Tharandt and the Temple of the Sun. The descent then leads down to the town of Tharandt with its castle ruins, animal enclosure, botanical garden and S-Bahn station in the direction of Dresden via Freital Coßmannsdorf or you can walk back to Coßmannsdof on the lower Leitenweg (green dot).
