The circular route leads leisurely through the spa town and past beautiful viewpoints before the exciting Altenberg Mining Museum offers an insight into the traditional mining history of the Ore Mountains. A special highlight for young and old alike is the Altenberg adventure mountain with its leisure activities, play facilities and views over the town.
The hike is easy to manage, but sturdy footwear is recommended due to the sometimes uneven paths. Ideal for families with adventurous children and/or baby carriages.

Directions
- Start at Altenberg railroad station and walk through the small park to Dippoldiswalder Straße. Follow this street to Rathausstraße, which you walk to the end. Shortly before the restaurant "zum Erzgebirge", turn left onto Römerstraße and past the "Römerschacht". This path now leads you through the spa gardens directly to the Altenberg Mining Museum. After a visit to the historic tin washing plant and the show tunnel, you return through the spa gardens to the "zum Erzgebirge" restaurant. Here you cross the B170 and follow the Raupennestweg uphill. Keep to the right so that you reach the Altenberg adventure mountain via the crossroads. You can end the tour here or simply walk back to the starting point via the wooden boardwalk and the spa gardens.
