It is incredible how many castles, palaces, and churches are located on this route through the Thuringian Vogtland.
The Osterburg in Weida is referred to as the cradle of Vogtland. The castle complex invites visitors to explore and climb the 54 m high keep.
In Wünschendorf, you will find the oldest place of worship in Vogtland, the Veitskirche, and in Blankenhain, you can experience the unique palace complex with the German Agricultural Museum. The paths lead over roads and field paths, developed cycle paths, and through gentle hilly countryside.
For a long time, they lay in the shadow of mining—the castles and palaces of the region. This cycling route provides a connection to history, linking Ronneburg Castle, Posterstein Castle, Blankenhain Castle, and Mildenfurth Monastery to the Osterburg in Weida. Along this route, you pass many idyllic villages with their churches, architectural monuments, and beautiful farmhouse gardens.
