Stopping and parking: When parking, a lane at least 3 m wide in each direction must remain free. A distance of at least 3.5 m must be maintained between parked vehicles and streetcar tracks. Parking and stopping is prohibited on bridges and up to 15 m before and after level crossings, tunnels and underpasses. A continuous or broken yellow line at the edge of the road means no parking.

Petrol stations are usually open Mon-Fri 6am-8pm, Sat 8am-8pm, along the main travel routes and in large cities mostly around the clock. Petrol stations of international oil companies in larger cities and tourist centers accept credit cards.

As part of ADAC Plus membership, the costs of repairing breakdowns and towing costs are reimbursed up to 200 euros each.
