The forest village of Drebach nestles gently in a side valley of the Zschopau, nestled in green, partly tree-covered hills. And here, in this community of 2,400 people, a sea of purple flowers announces the approach of spring every year - the crocuses show their full splendor over an area of seven hectares. The route shown here is recommended for a visit. There is also a real gem here, a Zeiss planetarium, which was equipped with the latest Zeiss projection technology in 2014. For 30 years now, it has been offering interested guests the opportunity to travel through space and look over the shoulders of astronauts as they go about their daily work. Before an event, we recommend a visit to the "Erbgericht" restaurant, which knows how to serve its guests hearty fare.

Tip: Treasure hunters are very welcome. The planet trail can also be explored by geocaching, with a surprise waiting at the end.

To round off the day perfectly, take a short drive through a wooded valley to Scharfenstein. The magnificent castle sits enthroned high up on a mountain, while the village, which can also be reached by train, leans around the castle hill. Built around 1250 AD, visitors can gain an insight into life in the 18th century on a guided tour with gamekeeper Karl Stülpner; starting in the cellars, the tour takes you up to the roof. Afterwards, the castle tavern invites you to enjoy a cozy end to the day. The 600-metre-long castle trail also offers romantic views and interesting details about Stülpner, local history and botanical facts.
