The circular route in the Königsbrücker Heide connects the Beaver Trail and the Tower Trail. Along the way, information boards provide a lot of interesting facts about the life of beavers, and from the observation tower on the Haselberg, the highest point of the Tower Trail, you can enjoy a magnificent view over the region.

The route first takes us on the Beaver Trail through habitats shaped by beavers. Along the Pulsnitz river in Königsbrück, at the Bohraer Wasser in Glauschnitz, and at the Lake of Friendship, the presence of beavers is unmistakable: They build beaver lodges and dams, fell trees, and dam up the water. Information boards along the path provide more details about these impressive animals. The narrow trail leads us through forests and woodlands to various beaver territories. Along the way, we can discover different types of forest scenery.

Back at the lake, we reach the first of two observation towers. From this and the tower near Glauschnitz, beaver watching is possible at dusk. Now the route continues as the Tower Trail. Through forests and the Neue Lager – a former barracks – we finally reach the Haselberg Tower with two viewing platforms. From the 34 m high tower, we have a fascinating view over the Königsbrücker Heide Nature Reserve.
