The route runs almost the entire way along the International Friendship Mountain Hiking Trail Eisenach–Budapest. The start of the route is at the Ganzmeilensäule No. 48, which was newly created in 2018. It also follows the newly redesigned Marienweg. Through the 15 information boards, you get an insight into the past of our region and the time before the construction of the Eibenstock reservoir. In the middle of the hike, you then look from the dam of the Eibenstock reservoir over the surrounding landscape, until it goes back to the parking lot on the same path.
