The 583 m high Kottmar is the geographical center of the municipality of Kottmar and is considered the local mountain by the residents of the adjacent districts Eibau, Kottmarsdorf, Obercunnersdorf, and Walddorf. With a variety of well-marked hiking and cycling routes and numerous viewpoints in all four cardinal directions, it offers ideal conditions for adventure seekers. One of the three sources of the Spree (the highest) springs on the western slope.
