The 12 km long hike invites you to relax in nature and shows the village of Rübenau, a district of the mountain town Marienberg, from all its facets.
Exploration of the villages was not considered in the route description. Depending on your interests, detours or shortcuts can be added.

Our hike begins at the hiking car park at the S 217 – Waldstraße. Initially, it goes slightly downhill. We keep right and follow the circular hiking trail "Around Rübenau" (yellow). In the valley basin, we cross the connecting road to Kühnhaide, walk along the Kriegwaldweg, past the old forester's house and the Jägerstein to the Heidenweg junction. Nearby is a memorial stele that commemorates former villages. At the junction, we go downhill to Nacetin. There we keep left and stay on the road to Kalek. We reach the village of Rübenau again. We stay on Einsiedeler Straße up to Flügelweg. Here we turn right and stay on "Around Rübenau" (yellow). In the valley, we go right on Olbernhauer Straße towards the town exit. After passing a small distinctive rock, it goes uphill to the left to Hammerweg. Important hiking trails run along Hammerweg, the Kammweg, the E3 and the WDE. However, we follow the yellow marking and walk right and then left uphill again. Always along the forest edge, we stay on the Rübenauer Waldstraße with a wonderful view until the starting point of our hike.
Sturdy footwear is recommended.
