Ski hiking possible
The route begins at the immediate edge of Wildenthal; directly at the small ski lift (top station).
Along a flat stretch, it leads first 2 km along the forest edge to the 5 houses of Oberwildenthal and then steadily, but gradually, 3 km on the historic route to Karlsbad, up to the ridge of the Ore Mountains and the hiking border crossing to the Czech Republic.
From there you can extend to Jeleni (Hirschenstand) in the Czech Republic. It is about 2 km to the small inn Jeleni (opening times and phone number are usually noted on a small sign at the border).
