Welcome to the kingdom of the senses. Europe's first adventure winery welcomes its guests with daily treat tours.
Wackerbarth Castle (valiant beard) sounds like the name from a fairytale. And what awaits the visitor at the foot of the vineyard in Radebeul truly seems legendary: the unique ensemble of a stately home and a belvedere, Baroque gardens and a modern factory for making wine and sparkling wine in the middle of the lovely landscape of Saxony’s Elbe Valley.
Wackerbarth Castle, which experienced many a euphoric party of the Saxon court, has since then been a by-word for elegant wines, sparkling wines and Saxon joie de vivre, and now presents the 800-year-old tradition of wine-growing in Saxony in its most beautiful form. A fizzy pleasure is the sparkling wine from the Wackerbarth vintners. It has been produced for almost 200 years. This second-oldest sparkling wine producer in Germany uses Saxon grapes only, which traditionally ferment in the bottle to produce a fine and fruity specialty. Visitors can try the quality of the Saxon State Winery themselves in the transparent factory or feast on fine food and take home a bottle of this noble wine.
