The Vogtland Philharmonic Orchestra brings the centuries-old orchestral tradition of the Vogtland music region to life.
As a musical ambassador, the orchestra performs in concert halls in the region and in music centers in almost all European countries, such as the Golden Hall of the Musikverein Vienna or the Gewandhaus in Leipzig. It has made several guest appearances in Turkey, China and the USA and is a proven partner at the Markneukirchen International Instrumental Competition, the Klingenthal International Accordion Competition and the Greiz Stavenhagen Competition. In 1992, the Vogtland Philharmonic Orchestra merged with the Greiz State Symphony Orchestra and the Reichenbach State Vogtland Orchestra to form an indispensable cultural institution. Economically supported by the Free States of Thuringia and Saxony, the Greiz and Vogtland districts and the towns of Greiz and Reichenbach, it continues the orchestral tradition of over 160 years in the Vogtland region at the highest level of quality and has been inspiring audiences with its innovative spirit and inventiveness ever since.
