Above theMude river rises the late Gothic Trebsen Castle. It´s diamond vault is one of the greatest works of the late Middle Ages.
Only half an hour from Leipzig, in the middle of the Saxon Heath and Castle Land, Trebsen Castle’s walls rise above the west shore of the river Mulde. Trebsen Castle offers, in addition to a stately setting, also rooms for festivities of all kinds, great culinary delights and various events.
An architectural feature of the castle is the magnificent vaulted cellar on the ground floor, which can also be admired in the restaurant. These ceilings are among the greatest construction works of the late Middle Ages and were considered as a sensation in European royal courts.
The 18th century English style parkland is still partially preserved and enchants with the natural charm of its powerful trees. If you want to take a stroll, the extensive castle park invites you for a romantic walk.
