The baroque hunting castle is the main character in midst of this unique forest and pond landscape. The castle belongs to the most beautiful and important baroque constructions in Saxony.  Only in distance of a romantic stroll away from the baroque castle you will find Little Pheasant Castle designed by the later on resident of Dresden – Rokoko.  The nearby pheasant-garden and inland port facilities with Germany's' oldest inland lighthouse replenish the ensemble of the Cultural Landscape Moritzburg. Moritzburg is also famous for its horse breeding. The stud of Saxony accommodates in the former hunting stables of the aristocrats “Wettiner“ family. Thousands of horse enthusiasts come to see the annual stallion parade.
 
Apart from the impressive castle resort as cultural highlight you are invited to enjoy active recreation. A dense network consisting in hiking, bicycle and horse riding trails are completed by beautiful meadows, forests and ponds. Carriage and sleigh rides offer an exclusive way to explore the surroundings of Moritzburg.
