The city centre, preserved in its original state, with the guildhall, rich in gothic portals, the Sonnenstein fortress, the protestant city church of St. Marien and the Canaletto-house tell the story of the more than 775-year-old city. By the way, several historical townscapes of Pirna can be admired in the picture gallery in Dresden - painted by the famous Italian veduta artist Bernardo Bellotto, called Canaletto.
