King Albert Theatre in Bad Elster

Today, the King Albert Theatre Bad Elster ranks among the most magnificent historic theatres of Central Germany.

The theatre in the city of culture and festivals, Bad Elster, is one of the most significant and wonderful Royal Theatres. In 1914, it was inaugurated by King Friedrich August III of Saxony as "King Albert Theatre" - playing activity already commenced in 1888.
 
After an extensive refurbishment it was solemnly reopened in 2004. Since then, leading theatres from Central Germany and Bohemia as well as international stars and ensembles performed here. The theatre is the home venue of the Electoral Saxon Philharmonic Orchestra.
