The bench, specially designed for the Jahnsdorf location, forms a course with curves and height differences that invites you to sit, lie down or slide dynamically.
Jeppe Hein's Modified Social Bench for Jahnsdorf #01, a multi-part aluminum sculpture, focuses on people coming together. Touching, sitting, lying down and sliding are expressly encouraged. In this way, Hein playfully dissolves the conventional principle of prohibiting direct contact with or use of art. Jeppe Hein was born in 1974 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He now lives and works in Berlin.
