Saxony's longest suspension bridge, at 80 metres, spans the Mulde river in Grimma. It connects the city area with the city park on the opposite bank of the Mulde.
The suspension bridge in Grimma was built in 1924, demolished in 1945 and rebuilt four years later as a riveted construction. During the two floods in 2002 and 2013 it was badly damaged, making it inaccessible for several months. Today, however, it has been completely restored and is often traversed by hikers and cyclists.
