High above the Zschopau Valley at the edge of the Ore Mountains stands Augustusburg Castle. Elector Augustus of Saxony had this monumental Renaissance castle constructed over 450 years ago as a symbol of his power. Today, it houses cultural treasures and exhibitions that are unmatched. At Augustusburg Castle, one of the most significant motorcycle collections in Europe is ready to be explored by you. Spanning 1,200 m², more than 170 magnificent specimens tell the story of the motorized two-wheeler from its noisy beginnings to the high-revving present. The smell of gasoline, exciting films, a sound simulator, and the globally unique representation of the successful motorcycle companies DKW, Auto Union, and MZ will make your heart race. Only here can you see a fire-red DKW Sport 500 or an original Brough-Superior SS 80 Special – that is pure fascination! The unmatched large collection of types and unique models from the series and racing sports field is a must for die-hard motorcycle fans. No longer a hidden gem: the biker and classic car meets in January, August, and October. During these times, the Biker Castle Open Air takes place with fans and their machines from all over Europe. Under the lecture series "Benzingefluster," you will learn thrilling background stories on exciting motorcycle topics.
