The KiEZ "Am Filzteich" itself is a multifunctional group accommodation with a variety of uses for recreation, education, and leisure stays. It is one of the largest facilities in the UNESCO World Heritage region of the Ore Mountains, situated right by Saxony's oldest dam, the Filzteich, not far from the mountain and "Christmas town" of Schneeberg.
