Castle Issigau - was first documented as a former fortress in 1398 and belonged to the Lords of Reizenstein. The castle was attacked and besieged multiple times. It was last conquered and destroyed during the Thirty Years' War by King Gustav Adolf of Sweden. In 1750 it was rebuilt as a pleasure palace. Over the decades, the castle changed hands frequently. In the 18th century, it was also once a manor estate. Since 1900, the castle has been privately owned. In 1919, factory director Carl Schmidt from Weischlitz purchased the castle, which was later passed on to Schmidt's heirs. In 1976, the heavily dilapidated complex was acquired by the Braitmaier family from Nuremberg and converted and renovated into a hospitality business with a campsite. The handover of the business to the son, Stefan Braitmaier, took place in 1991. Under the leadership of the current owner, there is a continuous preservation and renovation of the entire property.
