The Glänzel Mill – a house with history – in an idyll that you can hardly experience anymore. Are you looking for peace from everyday life, a cozy break on your journey, or a secluded spot for togetherness? Enjoy a timeout in the midst of quiet nature and old trees. The oldest records of the "Oberwinkler Mühle" date back to the 16th century. Due to its favorable location at the entrance of the Grünfelder Park, it was already a popular destination for "summer tourists" from the big city at the turn of the century. Until 1934, it was owned by the Glänzel family. The last 100 years have written much history that can be discovered on site. The current 1.7-hectare property is located in the southeastern part of Grünfelder Park, a 120-hectare English landscape garden. An ideal starting point for walks, hikes, and cycling tours. The lovely nearby Mulde offers canoe tours, and the Mulde bike path takes you through the beautiful Mulde Valley. Explore the small town of Waldenburg, with its castle and natural history museum.
Waldenburg is a town of pottery and weddings. It knows how to celebrate many large festivals throughout the year. The open-air stage, located 500m away, offers you outdoor theater and various other events in the summer. Discover old trees, magnificent foliage plants, and interesting facts about the animals of our ancient forest on the nature trail that runs past the house. If you stay longer with us, excursions are recommended: Hohenstein-Ernstthal – Sachsenring, Zwickau Horch Museum, Altenburg, Leipzig, Chemnitz, Dresden, Erzgebirge, Weimar. Our gem has many cozy spots for stopping and reflecting. Each place has its own story: Arriving at the house's parking lot, past the goat pen and the Finnish cottages, you reach the guest house. Inside the house are our guest rooms, the Café Sahnehäubchen, an old restaurant, and the lounge with a terrace. The outdoor area is bordered by 2 ponds with surrounding sitting niches, a large beer garden with a veranda and summer kitchen, a covered dance floor, and a small playground.
The mill building, standing against a rock wall, invites you to a peaceful overnight stay in the greenery with its bright 4 single and 5 double rooms, which are functionally equipped. Our 4 Finnish cottages located by the stream offer a special experience for 2 people each. (Extra beds possible)
All rooms and Finnish cottages consist of a small entrance area and a living space and are equipped with a television / WC & shower. Breakfast is included in the overnight price. Enjoy the view of the historic beer garden with its old veranda (circa 1900) and the beautiful mill pond.
Dogs are allowed in the Finnish cottages.

A life without a celebration is like a hike without a stop! In our excursion restaurant, you can celebrate perfectly: restaurant, café, lounge, veranda, covered dance floor, or if the weather is nice, we can also set the table in the outdoor area. We will arrange every room according to your needs. For this, a rental and setup fee will be charged according to effort. Service staff are available for you. We are happy to advise you.
