The holiday apartment "Räuberhauptmann Karasek" is located in the Oybiner district of Hain, high up in the mountains, directly on the mountain ridge of the Zittau Mountains and just a few steps from the German-Czech border.
You will be staying in the attic (2nd floor) of a multi-family house built in 1963. The entire property has been completely renovated, and the holiday apartment was fully refurbished and furnished in September 2022.
The apartment offers an outstanding panoramic view of the mountains, the surrounding rock formations, and Mount Oybin with its castle ruins.
Just a few meters from the house, you will find numerous restaurants and cafés for breakfast. Opposite the property, you can enjoy a cozy and affordable meal at the Kammbaude.
A short walk along the ridge will lead you to a ski lift. Here, snow is much more frequent, so it's essential to think about appropriate equipment when visiting in the winter months.
You can access the hiking trail network on both the German and Czech sides directly from the house.
The spa town of Oybin is considered the jewel of the Zittau Mountains and is located at the tri-border area of Germany - Czech Republic - Poland. Picturesquely and very quietly situated, you will find the district of Hain with our holiday apartment "Räuberhauptmann Karasek" high up.
The large district town of Zittau can be reached in about 15 minutes by car. The Olbersdorfer See, with several swimming beaches, is about 10 minutes by car from Oybin. The spa town of Oybin offers a variety of interesting and even breathtaking sights and excursion destinations. The majestic Mount Oybin, with its mountain church, castle, and monastery ruins, not only resembles a film set but also provides a unique view over the Zittau Mountains.
From Oybin station, the historical Zittau narrow-gauge railway departs towards Zittau. A ride with full steam should definitely be part of your holiday program. Also, from Oybin station, you can take double-decker buses and the little steam train for tours through the Zittau Mountains.
In the town center itself, you will find the spa park, various shops, and numerous restaurants and cafés. Typical for Upper Lusatia, the Zittau Mountains, and also for the spa town of Oybin are our heritage-protected, partly over 300-year-old, house constructions known as Umgebindehäuser. They practically invite you to go on photo safaris.
About 2,000 meters from the holiday property, you will find the gigantic Kelch stones, which are among the most photographed rock formations in the Zittau Mountains.
