The small village of Hohburkersdorf is located 30 kilometers southeast of Dresden on the edge of the Saxon Switzerland National Park. By train, you can travel to either Pirna or Bad Schandau. From the train stations, there are bus connections towards Hohnstein. From Pirna, bus line 237 takes about 30 minutes to reach Hohburkersdorf. From Bad Schandau, bus line 254 takes approximately 20 minutes to Hohnstein. From there, bus line 237 continues for about another 10 minutes to Hohburkersdorf.
By car, you can reach Hohburkersdorf via the A13 from Berlin or from the west via the A4 from Frankfurt am Main. Coming from the A13, continue at the Dresden-Nord triangle onto the A14 towards Görlitz/Bautzen. In Leppersdorf, take the exit towards Radeberg until Dresden Rossendorf. From there, it’s about 20 minutes to your destination. From the A4 coming from Chemnitz, shortly before Dresden, take the A17 towards Prague. Just before Pirna, exit the motorway towards Pirna/Bad Schandau/Bastei. Drive past Pirna and cross the Elbe towards Lohmen/Bastei. Shortly after the village of Lohmen, pass the junction to Bastei. The road continues until the intersection at the Hocksteinschänke inn. There, turn left. After about 1 km, you will reach the entrance to Hohburkersdorf on the left side.
