You can expect a lovingly renovated historic half-timbered house, located close to the city center yet quietly situated by a rushing stream. The Painter's Way runs directly past the house. Shopping facilities, train station, Elbe, ferry, and steamboat landing are all within a short walking distance.
The house has been carefully renovated and offers a beautiful interplay of old and new. The large terrace above the carport can only be used until 10 PM out of respect for the neighbors, and barbecuing is not possible for the same reason.
Many hikes can be started directly at the house, for example to the Königstein Fortress, to Lilienstein, and to Pfaffenstein. Other destinations can be easily reached by train, such as the Hintere Sächsische Schweiz, the Felsenbühne and Bastei in Rathen, as well as the state capital Dresden.
The 118 kilometers of the Painter's Way uncover the most beautiful and spectacular spots of the Saxon Switzerland for hikers. Its stages can also be completed from a fixed accommodation. They are easily accessible by public transportation.
A children's playground can be found a few hundred meters away in the city center next to the church, and another is located by the Elbe near the steamboat landing. There is a full-range supermarket about 500 meters away.
We do not have a television, but we do have Wi-Fi. If you bring a laptop, you can watch TV this way. (The relaxation is guaranteed to be greater without it!) A selection of games and books is available.
