The first Karásek and Stülpner civic brewery was founded in 2013. Both names are known from Czech-German history because they were about robbers and poachers. And so the beers brewed here (11°, 12°, 13°, 14°, 16° and speciality beers) have the right touch, as they are unfiltered and unpasteurized.
Brewing beer in Chomutov has its origins in the bourgeois breweries, as practically every house on the market square was a brewery or malt house. At the end of the 19th century, however, a modern industrial brewery with beautiful architecture was built in the town. It functioned until the 1950s, when production was moved to Jirkov and later shut down there as well. The brewery buildings were demolished at the beginning of the 21st century.
However, the tradition of civic brewing rights was maintained and in 2013 the First Civic Brewery Karásek and Stülpner was established.Brewery tours take place every Monday at 17:00. Registration is requested. By arrangement, the date can be adapted to the visitor's wishes.
