Tradition meets modern brewing

Beer has been brewed in Freiberg for over 800 years - a tradition that is still alive today. The modern Freiberg brewery, built in 1995 and successor to the historic brewery in the town center, is home to the legendary Freiberg Pils. If you want to find out how hops and malt are turned into a fine, bitter beer, you shouldn't miss a tour of the brewery. On the one-hour tour, visitors gain exciting insights into the brewhouse and bottling plant and learn how Freiberg's art of brewing has survived from the Middle Ages to the present day. Afterwards, a tasting awaits the guests - with typical beer specialties and hearty snacks.

The guided tours around Freiberg beer promise even more beer enjoyment. Whether on a cheerful beer tour with master brewer Michael through the old town, a gourmet tour through Dresden or an excursion on the "Braumeisters Dampfzug" through the Weißeritz Valley - the art of brewing, history and enjoyment combine to create an unforgettable experience.

The highlight of the year is the brewery festival!
