The Bahnwärterhäuschen is a café with a very special charm. The striking red house in which the café is located is picturesquely situated between the Weißeritz and the Weißeritz valley slope.
As the name suggests, the café is located directly on the tracks and served as the railroad attendant's house from 1949 until shortly before the flood in 2002. Since 2008, the Bahnwärterhäuschen in Tharandt has been home to a café where guests are warmly welcomed. As an ideal destination for hikers, families and cyclists, it invites you to stop for coffee, homemade cakes, hot waffles or a freshly prepared hearty meal. Depending on the weather, guests can settle down for a relaxing break in the house with its rustic furnishings or in the spacious garden.
