Leipzig Book Fair and Literature Festival "Leipzig Reads"

At a glance

The Leipzig Book Fair is the most important spring meeting of the book and media industry and connects readers, authors, publishers and the media.

The Leipzig Book Fair is the most important spring meeting of the book and media industry and connects readers, authors, publishers and the media – not only from Germany, but from all over the world. They all come to Leipzig to experience the diversity of literature, discover novelties and gain new perspectives.

The diversity of the Leipzig Book Fair covers current topics and trends from fiction risk to non-fiction and specialist books. In each case, a host country receives special attention. Under Focus on Education, it also presents the latest educational offers for all ages and focuses specifically on promoting reading for the youngest visitors. The Leipzig Book Fair is aimed at educators, booksellers and authors (with autoren@leipzig) and provides an intensive exchange of ideas with further training and discussion sessions.

Due to its unique connection with Leipzig liest , the largest reading festival in Europe, the Leipzig Book Fair is a crowd magnet. Parallel to the Leipzig Book Fair, the Manga-Comic-Con (MCC) and the Leipzig Antiquarian Fair will take place.
