Leipzig Book Fair and Literature Festival "Leipzig Reads"

At a glance

The Leipzig Book Fair is the most important spring meeting of the book and media industry and connects readers, authors, publishers and the media.

The Leipzig Book Fair is the most important spring gathering for the book and media industry, bringing together readers, authors, publishers, and media professionals—not only from Germany, but from all over the world. They all come to Leipzig to experience the diversity of literature, discover new releases, and gain fresh perspectives.

The Leipzig Book Fair covers a wide range of current topics and trends, from fiction to nonfiction and specialized books.

Thanks to its unique connection with “Leipzig Reads,” Europe’s largest reading festival, the Leipzig Book Fair is a major draw for the public. The Manga-Comic-Con (MCC) also takes place alongside the Leipzig Book Fair.

With 3,000 events at over 300 reading venues featuring more than 3,000 participants, the Leipzig Book Fair’s program of events from March 18 to 21, 2027, offers a major platform for publishers and authors. Book lovers can experience literature live through readings, panel discussions, and interactive activities as part of the fair’s program at the Leipzig Exhibition Center and at the “Leipzig Reads” reading festival, which takes place at numerous venues throughout the city.
