The Leipzig Book Fair is the most important spring meeting of the book and media industry and connects readers, authors, publishers and the media.
The diversity of the Leipzig Book Fair encompasses current themes and trends from fiction to non-fiction and specialist books. The focus theme of this year's program is "Danube - Under the River and Between Worlds" and takes visitors through Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. On the occasion of the Jewish theme year "Tacheles", the book fair also has many program highlights in store from the world of Jewish life.
The unique combination with Leipzig Reads, Europe's largest reading festival, makes the Leipzig Book Fair a crowd-puller. The Manga-Comic-Con (MCC) also takes place parallel to the Leipzig Book Fair.
With 3,000 events at over 300 reading venues by over 3,000 contributors, the Leipzig Book Fair event program from 19 to 22 March 2026 offers a great stage for publishers and authors. Reading fans can experience literature live in readings, talks and hands-on activities in the trade fair program at the Leipzig Exhibition Centre and at the Leipzig Reads reading festival at numerous reading venues throughout the city.
