Welcome to Raschau-Markersbach - the valley of bridges! Our hiking tour starts from the "Kaiserhof" guest house on the beautifully situated circular trail up the village road (local markings). Hiking uphill to the right at the railroad bridge, follow the E3 (blue) to the right and cross the dam of the lower reservoir (lower basin). The path leads steeply uphill through dense forest to the upper reservoir. On the top of the dam (upper reservoir) you can enjoy the magnificent view over the valleys of the Erzgebirge. At the Hundsmarterflügel (yellow), the trail heads downhill.
After a short rest at the EZV Markersbach e.V. hiking and shelter hut, you cross the B 101, continue down Gartenstraße, cross the level crossing to Dorfstraße and follow the yellow markings. The tour then leaves the yellow markings and continues along Dorfstraße. After a detour (left) to the viaduct (probably the most popular photo motif in our village - also known as the "matchstick bridge"), you return to the hiking trail and via Ortstraße to the starting point.
