Follow in the footsteps of lime mining along the mining nature trail. Your hike begins at the lime works museum, past the white kiln and the earth kilns. You can plan a detour to the Neunzehnhain II dam (the top of the wall is accessible). Continue on to the Neunzehnhain I dam. Follow the markings and end your hike with a guided tour of the Kalkwerk museum. Here, the quarrying of limestone can be traced back to the 16th century. In June/July, up to 6,000 wild orchids, also known as spotted orchids, grow on the quarry floor. These can only be viewed as part of a guided tour.
