Kurparkhotel Warmbad
Kurparkhotel Warmbad
Warmbad Wolkenstein was the immediate home of the folk hero Karl Stülpner, also known as the "son of our forests". From the Kurparksee lake, we walk northwards on the red markings to Brand-Wald (the name comes from the time of the charcoal burners) and change there to the yellow markings in the direction of Hopfgarten. There we use the red marked Zschopautalweg trail downstream, which we leave again at the start of the green marked Stülpner trail to get to Großolbersdorf and the well-kept burial site. The red-marked high route or the path via the Wurzelbachschänke tavern back to Warmbad allows us to catch a glimpse of Scharfenstein Castle, which Stülpner is said to have once besieged alone. Could he have bathed in Warmbad's thermal waters at the time?
Places of interest:
- Warmbad spa center with spring house and Warmbad silver thermal baths
