Spechtritz station (Weisseritztalbahn)
Station Edle Krone (DB S3 Freiberg-Tharandt-Dresden)
Spechtritz station on the Weißeritztalbahn is the starting point of the tour. First we have to climb quite steeply uphill through the enchanting village of Spechtritz on the village road. But after just 700m, a beautiful panoramic view of the landscape opens up. We follow the asphalt road to Borlas and reach the magic barn in Borlas almost at the top of the village after 3.2 km. If you have registered, the magicians are waiting behind the door and you can even learn how to do magic here. From here we continue into Höckendorfer Heide and at the sports field on the market path to the left towards Ruppendorf as far as Wettinplatz, then - turning right on the green line markings - we reach the playground and the Höckendorf zoo shortly afterwards. At the village square, we find tourist information and rest stops at the hotel inn "Zum Erbgericht". From here, we follow the "Heiligen Weg" to Meißen for a while, but only as far as the Huthaus am Richtschacht. Down to Edle Krone to the train station, through part of the "Edle Krone Nature Experience", the path is a little more challenging. Shortly afterwards, we can shorten the waiting time for the next local train with a visit to the Edle Krone museum station. In this meeting place for railroad, hiking and nature enthusiasts, you can also take your own refreshments at the "Zum Hemmschuh" hiking rest stop.
In just under 10 minutes in the direction of Dresden, via Tharandt, you reach Freital Hainsberg again and are quickly in the state capital in just 22 minutes.
Note: A hiking trail also leads from Seifersdorf or Malter railroad station through the Seifersdorfer and Höckendorfer Heide to the zoo and the picturesque village center of Höckendorf. The Edle Krone hiking destination can also be reached via the Ochsenberg and the Pionierweg on a longer but easier route.
