Between Cranzahl and the spa town of Oberwiesenthal, the steam trains of the Fichtelbergbahn puff several times a day. Those who prefer to be active can complete the entire route or just a section of it along the largely parallel “Erlebnispfad Bimmelbahn” experience trail.
Tired hiking legs can rest again on the steam train and use the Fichtelbergbahn to continue the journey. A break in the trip is possible. While the train covers a total distance of 17.4 km, you as a hiker walk about 20 km. The path is accessible in the snow-free season from about mid-April to early November.
