On this circular tour south of Olbernhau, great views of the town of the seven valleys make up for the strenuous climb. The route then takes a relaxed walk through dense beech forest past streams and rest areas along the ridge path to the Saiger smelting complex in Grünthal. The Saiger process was used to extract silver and copper from silver-bearing copper ores and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Ore Mountains / Krušnohoří mining region.
Follow the white-red-white markings (EB) in the direction of the station. Continue on the Rübenauer Weg. At the Hammerweg junction, continue on the white-blue-white markings to the Große Steinbach. From there, follow the Kammweg past the Stößerfelsen rock to the Grünthaler Straße hiking parking lot. From there, follow the white-red-white markings back to the starting point.
