The rocky valley of the Zschopau in the Ore Mountains is bordered by particularly impressive rock formations between Wolkenstein and the spa town of Warmbad. The STEIN, which juts out almost into the WOLKEN, seems to have grown together with the walls of the castle and palace complex. Romantic gneiss cliffs also line the well-maintained path in Wolkensteiner Schweiz. Climbers will find routes of varying degrees of difficulty here. Short, steep ascents and descents alternate with leisurely passages, often with views of the tracks and trains of the Erzgebirge Railway. Viewpoints, the Warmbad spa gardens with drinking pavilion, the Silber-Therme Warmbad spa and the historic town center of Wolkenstein invite you to take a break.
