Near the Saxon capital, in Pulsnitz, the Pulsnitz gingerbread is being baked. Christmas without the famous Pulsnitz gingerbread is unthinkable. There is probably no other pastry that evokes so many memories through its aroma as the good Pulsnitz gingerbread. Old recipes, that have been kept for centuries, combined with craftsmanship reveal the unmistakable taste. And not only during Christmas time. Since 1558 the bakeries of Pulsnitz have already been the source of the sweet delicacies and have thus made Pulsnitz known as the city of gingerbread. In Europe's only gingerbread museum, in the "Alte Pfefferküchlerei" in Weißenberg, or in the show bakeries of Pulsnitz, you can witness and taste this art. Every year on the first weekend in November, the only gingerbread market in Germany takes place in the city of gingerbread.
