“Saxony’s splendour” sounds like festive baroque, indulgent romanticism and advanced, experimental new sounds.
On September 9, 2022, a new, this time particularly glamorous year of the music festival Erzgebirge will start. Under the annual motto “SACHSEN GLANZ”, a total of 15 top-class concerts and events take place in the mountain towns of the entire Ore Mountains region.
Even if the motto “. . . and Prussia’s Gloria” is on the tongue, the current festival looks more to the south from Saxony. The most important roots of Central German music reach to Bohemia and Italy. Without the Venetian music culture, for example, the magnificent musical life in Saxony’s Residences, with its exquisite court bands and the sonorous names of virtuosos and composers, would be inconceivable. But this year we want to look even further south: to Argentina and Armenia selected concert tours lead us.
