The fairytale castle Schloss Moritzburg Castle invites you to visit the Christmas market at the Cinderella Staircase.
On Friday, 13 December 2024, at 2 pm, the market hustle and bustle starts at the Moritzburg market square. At 4.30 pm, locals and guests are invited to join in Advent carol singing on the stage. The Moritzburg parish choir, Klangschale Moritzburg and "Sing my soul" from Radebeul will present atmospheric and contemplative Christmas carols and invite you to sing along. Afterwards, Ulrike Proschmann and Georg Wieland Wagner will set the mood for the Christmas season with crossover sounds on the marimba in the fairytale tent.
The Saturday programme is aimed primarily at families. The Glöckchen puppet theatre in the fairytale tent will entice you to visit the Christmas market from mid-morning. And in the afternoon, the wait for Father Christmas begins at 3 pm together with Ulf the minstrel. At 4 p.m., young and old are invited to join our fairytale princesses in waking Santa in his shepherd's wagon.
On Sunday, 15 December 2024, things will become more contemplative. After a colourful children's programme in the morning, the giant stollen will be transported from Moritzburg Castle across the castle embankment to the Christmas market at 3.00 pm. The Stollen Girl and the hard-working bakers led by master baker Karsten Liebscher traditionally cut the stollen. The proceeds from the sale of the stollen are donated to a charitable cause.
