Fête de la Musique in Chemnitz 2025! True to the motto: Umsonst & Draußen, you can look forward to over 150 musicians and bands in the city center.
From late afternoon - just in time for the end of the day - a varied music program will begin in the city centre, bringing together artists from a wide range of genres on various stages. With its own DJ stage at Karl-Marx-Kopf, the main stage at Neumarkt and a band stage with regional pop acts, Chemnitz will become a vibrant center of musical diversity.
A special highlight in 2025: ARTE will be making a stop in Chemnitz on its ARTE Summer Tour and invites you to a big sing-along karaoke on the stage at the Roter Turm from 20:15. Together with a DJ, presenter Valerie Habicht-Geels will animate the audience to well-known music hits - and prove that high standards and good entertainment go together perfectly.
In addition to five designated street music venues, numerous collaborations with regional partners will bring further exciting contributions to the city center stages. Between the Makers United stage in Stadthallenpark, dance performances as part of the TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ festival and skate action on Go Skateboarding Day, Chemnitz will present itself as a lively, urban city space full of cultural energy. Street musicians ensure that hardly a corner of the city is without music, dance or performance.
The celebrations also extend beyond the city limits: Ten cities in the Capital of Culture region are also taking part with musical and artistic contributions - including Zwönitz, Hainichen, Burgstädt, Zschopau, Mittweida, Zwickau, Glauchau, Limbach-Oberfrohna, Lugau and Stollberg.
The full program is available online at www.fete-chemnitz.de.
Admission to the Fête de la Musique is free - in keeping with the original idea. A small food mile with local restaurateurs will ensure that no one goes hungry.
