FAKE. The whole truth.

At a glance

Fake news, fake profiles and fake products; corporations that cheat; athletes that dop; politicians that don’t tell the truth; conspiracy myths about the Corona pandemic – there has never been so much fake as today. The uncertainty is great and the situation is serious. Deliberately published misinformation is powerful, it can help populists gain more support and lead to discrimination against individuals. They are a threat to democracy because they can erode confidence in the media, lead to insecurity and even destabilise a society.

The interactive exhibition responds to this social development and asks the question of truth and falsification – and why we lie to others and ourselves again and again. This makes the exhibition extremely topical, conveys orientation knowledge and helps in dealing with disinformation and false reports.
