Exhibition "Donata Wenders: Ode to craftsmanship and other works"

At a glance

Exhibition of cinematic miniatures about craftsmanship by the artist Donata Wenders in the vestibule of the Kunstbahnhof Flöha. The exhibition runs until December 2, 2025.

About the artist:

The visual artist and cinematographer Donata Wenders has created a series of cinematic miniatures entitled "Ode to Craftsmanship", in which she portrays Saxon craftspeople. As a rule, the focus is not on the individual, but on their craftsmanship. A blue weaver is joined by a shoemaker, a potter, a blacksmith, a papermaker and the Erzgebirge maker of the cult instrument bandoneon from Chemnitz. Portraits of the Schneeberg glove maker Nils Bergauer and the nutcracker maker Markus Füchtner in Seiffen have now also been created for the "PURPLE PATH".

Duration:

October 31 - December 2, 2025
Opening hours: Tue-Sun 12:00-18:00

The exhibition is a project of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 in cooperation with the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, the Regionalmanagement Europäische Kulturhauptstadtregion Chemnitz and the city of Flöha with the kind support of Afzal Mahmood.
