DOK Leipzig has been showing documentary and animation films from all over the world for over 60 years. This combination of two divisions is unique and attracts around 40,000 guests to Leipzig every year.
During the festival week in autumn – usually between October and November – numerous cinemas and venues in the city become DOK Leipzig venues. Film screenings, talk formats, special events and the extended reality exhibition DOK Neuland are part of the repertoire and stimulate debate and celebration.
Our 65th edition of the festival will take place from 17 to 23 October 2022. In view of the ongoing pandemic, we will announce in early summer the form in which we will celebrate films this year – whether on site in cinemas or in hybrid form with additional online offerings, as we have done in the past two years. We will publish the entire festival program at the end of September.
